The Journey to ChriStevens Catering - ChriStevens Catering began in 1997 as Philadelphia's Tea House, a popular city eatery highlighting healthy fare and a selection of fine teas. The Tea House was the culmination of a joint effort between Christine Fischer and her brother, Steven Fischer. For three years -- first as Tea House, then as The Pasta Bowl, Christine and Steven grew their business, and their services were soon widely in demand among Philadelphia's vegetarian community. Things would soon changed however, when Steven was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer in 2001. As he was able to spend less and less time with the business, he made Christine promise that she would continue Pasta Bowl Catering on her own. But when Steven died later that year, Christine found herself tasked with a different mission, and the catering business was put on hold. Christine would devote herself to raising awareness of childhood cancers through the Steven Fischer Fund, providing holistic nutritional therapy and cranial prostheses to child cancer sufferers. Christine would devote the next four years to her the project. |
